Dr. Mark A. Hardy brings his vast knowledge, years of experience, and internationally recognized expertise in the field of foot and ankle medicine and surgery to Balance Foot & Ankle.
He is Board Certified in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot & Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He serves as the Head of the Division of Foot & Ankle Surgery and Biomechanics at the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM). He also serves as the residency director of the Mercy Health Foot and Ankle Residency Program here in the Cleveland area.
Dr. Hardy has extensive surgical training, and is involved in product development and research in the field of foot and ankle surgery. He is also well versed in professional speaking, serving as a lecturer for many national and international Surgical Symposiums, Conferences, and Seminars. He has a particular interest in foot and ankle surgical training throughout China and India, where he serves as a Visiting Professor to many orthopaedic hospitals throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Among other appointments, Dr. Hardy has served as the Scientific Chairman for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), and has been a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is currently the Director of the Northern Ohio Foot and Ankle Foundation (NOFA) and Chairman of the Global Foot and Ankle Community (GFAC).
Dr. Hardy completed his residency with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation & Kaiser Permanente here in Cleveland. Prior to moving to Cleveland, Dr. Hardy completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee-Martin where he was the captain of their respective Division I NCAA basketball team for four years. He enjoys biking, fly fishing, travel, and spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children, Scarlet, Winston, and Nigel.
