Dr. Carissa Sharpe, DPM, DABPM

Dr. Sharpe is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and has advanced certification in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. As a graduate of Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Sharpe completed her comprehensive surgical residency with University Hospitals in Cleveland where she served as chief resident. Dr. Sharpe is a member of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, American Podiatric Medical Association, and Ohio Podiatric Medical Association.

 

She enjoys treating patients of all ages. Her special interests include diabetic footcare, pediatric pathology, sports medicine, general foot pain and trauma, nail and skin conditions, and wound care. In addition to her primary practice, Dr. Sharpe takes pride in being part of a collaborative wound care team where she is involved in limb preservation. Prior to joining Balance Foot and Ankle Wellness Center, Dr. Sharpe worked in an orthopedic practice where she treated many patients with sports injuries, fractures, tendonitis, and other podiatric conditions. She enjoys treating athletes with the goal to get them back in their sport as safely and quickly as possible.

 

Realizing that all patients are unique, Dr. Sharpe understands the importance of individualized treatment protocols. This approach helps each patient meet their goals and reach the ultimate goal of healing and returning to normal function.

 

In her free time, Dr. Sharpe enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Jonathan Sharpe, and their three children. She enjoys being outdoors, hiking in the Metroparks, riding her bike around town, and watching her children play sports.
