Balance Foot & Ankle - Alex Bischoff
Primary Locations: Concord & Chesterland

Dr. Alex Bischoff joined the Balance Foot and Ankle team in 2023. Dr. Bischoff grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska as an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and then completed Podiatric Medical School at Des Moines University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Iowa. Dr. Bischoff graduated at the top of his class and received the prestigious American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Student of the Year award, which is given to one exemplary graduating student in the nation annually.

His pursuit for top-tier training then took him to Columbus, OH for his 3-year surgical residency at Grant Medical Center, a level-1 trauma center, known for exceptionally high surgical volume in reconstruction, trauma, and limb salvage. He then completed his one-year advanced foot and ankle reconstructive fellowship with Dr. Jonathan Sharpe at Balance Foot and Ankle.

Dr. Bischoff has a desire to provide the most accurate evidence-based treatment options for his patients.  It is this desire that has led him to publish 14 articles in peer-reviewed journals and present his research almost 30 times via poster and oral presentation at state and national meetings.  In 2022 he received a national award for his research surrounding total talus ankle replacement.

Dr. Bischoff takes pride in listening to each patient individually and treating everyone as he would treat his family. Professionally, he treats all foot and ankle pathology.  Because of his advanced training, he has a special interest in reconstructive surgery of complex foot and ankle deformities such as flatfoot in the adult and pediatric patient, foot and ankle fractures, ligament and tendon Injuries, bunions and hammertoes, achilles tendon pathology, and charcot neuroarthropathy. Dr. Bischoff does perform arthroscopic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and total ankle replacement.

When he is not in the office or the hospital, Dr. Bischoff loves to spend time with his beautiful wife and their three children.  They love to be outdoors including camping, biking, hiking, and watersports. He enjoys watching collegiate and professional football and basketball.  He is also heavily involved in his local church community.  Dr. Bischoff is looking forward to treating you in our Concord or Chesterland offices.
